She received the MS degree in physics in 1985 from the University of Sofia, Bulgaria, and the Ph.D. degree from the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences. She is currently a research associate with the Central Laboratory of Optical Storage and Processing of Information at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences. Her fields of research include optical wireless communications, digital and optical holography, photorefractive materials, photonic band-gap structures, etc. She has published a large number of papers in the most prestigious international journals in optics.
