She is an Assistant Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering at The Pennsylvania State University, The Behrend College in Erie, PA.

 

 

Education

 

Biography:

 

She received her B.S.E.E. from Michigan Technological University in 1991 and her M.S.E.E. from Syracuse University in 1994.  Between 1991 and 1994, Kathleen worked for GE Aerospace’s Electronics Laboratory in Syracuse, NY (now Martin Marietta).  Here she was a device engineer working on millimeter-wave solid-state amplifiers using PHEMT technology.  In late 1994, she went to the University of California at Davis for one year conducting research in digital communications.  From 1995 she was employed at Hewlett Packard in the Wireless Infrastructure Division as a hardware engineer.  At HP she worked on the design of base station amplifiers for the cellular and PCS standards.  Kathleen Muhonen was a member of the Center for Information and Communicstions Technology Research (CICTR) at Penn State University and a Ph.D. candidate under Dr. Mohsen Kavehrad. At Penn State, Kathleen’s research was on amplifier linearization techniques for LMDS systems.  Upon graduation from Penn-State, she joined the RF Micro Devices Inc. in Greensboro, NC. She is now an Assistant Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering at The Pennsylvania State University, The Behrend College in Erie, PA.
